What’s New With Dakota?
Can my readership hear me screaming, Yhaayyy throughout this article post? Imagine as you read this article, the biggest smile and a 5foot 3inch woman jumping for joy. Now that I have your undivided attention, you get the idea, I’m extremely excited. Everything successful starts with an idea, followed by a vision. And of course, none of that will come to fruition without putting in the work. About one year ago, I attended my first candle making class in Norfolk, Virginia. Afterwards, I felt a sense of calm and peacefulness. This was an emotion I had not felt is quite a while. I was not at all certain until a few days later, exactly what I had experienced until I indulged in a bit of reading. There it was in black and white, the joy of candle making can equate to a true therapeutic session. At that point I was addicted to the euphoria of creating the most beautiful candles, one after another and “Pink Vibe Spot” was already a thriving small business!
Whenever my creative wheels are turning, I’m often reminded of my favorite Albert Einstein quote: “Creativity is just intelligence having fun.”
How often have you discounted social media as a valuable networking tool? Well, I can honestly tell my readers, this is how I found my permanent vendor home. The universe matched me up with the first “LAZY DAISY FRANCHISE” located here in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is not just any ole gift store the artisans and creatives are dedicated to highlighting their best work. I felt the love when I first saw the empty shell of a building, I knew in my heart this place is going to be on an epic level of vendor shopping. Fast forward to weeks of emails and continuing to study my craft, the grand opening finally scheduled for October 12th and 13th. Amazing would be an understatement at best. The lead Daisy Queen herself Michelle Leshok practically lived in the store; her work ethic is beyond exceptional. I’m impressed with every business move she makes. Our new franchise owners Heather and Mike Fleming were in beast mode right out of the gate.
I’m madly in love with everyone and every Daisy Nook in the building. So many vendors offered me exceptional business advice. Michelle and Heather have been welcoming, kind and neither of them shied away from my two million questions! Please come out, glance over every daisy nook. I promise, you will fall in love with some unique treasure to take home with you.
